About Us - ONE Architects

Roots. ONE Architects is formed from the alliance of renowned Finnish architecture studios AW2 Architects (1993), B&M Architects (1992) and Konkret (1997), all with complimentary track record of successful, prominent projects. Over the years we have won critical acclaim in several Finnish and international architectural competitions.

Sustainability and quality. We are one of the leaders in sustainable architecture and zoning and understand that it is in our clients' projects where we make the most difference. We contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals with our Group's sustainability programme and systematically reduce our own carbon footprint in line with targets approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). We work in accordance with certified environmental and quality systems ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and we are committed to the circular economy Green Deal.

We provide services for all areas of architecture from urban planning and residential, commercial and hybrid buildings to administrative centers, arenas, hospitals and renovations.

Urban development and planning

We believe in creating vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive urban environments. We specialize in large and complex projects, including participatory planning, area branding, concepts, temporary use and lifecycle management. Many of our projects are based on competition-winning entries.

Our expertise includes a deep understanding of administrative processes and project feasibility. We guide our clients through the entire process, from preliminary design to project realization. Our comprehensive approach includes initial consultations, master planning and zoning, stakeholder engagement, and navigating administrative processes together. We ensure that every step is transparent and collaborative, providing reliable expert guidance to achieve the best possible outcomes for the client and users.

Interior design

We are professionals in high-quality space design. Our expertise is based on multidisciplinary knowledge and experience across various industries. We create spatial concepts as part of architectural design projects, as well as independent interior design projects.

Our design approach is user-oriented, focusing on individual solutions. We emphasize high quality and sustainable design, aiming to create inspiring and comfortable spaces where people want to come and spend their time.

Our areas of expertise include multi-purpose spaces, work and learning environments, cultural and public spaces, as well as demanding healthcare facilities. We have access to a wide range of software tools and work within the BIM environment.

Renovation design

Our expertise lies in the renovation and repurposing of old buildings. We preserve the valuable history of our design projects while bringing the buildings into the present day with sustainable, innovative design solutions. Our work is based on thorough preliminary investigations, and we are happy to also prepare the necessary building history surveys. In the design process, we use modern techniques and materials to ensure that renovation is both sustainable and cost-effective.

We have had the privilege of being involved in numerous interesting projects, such as the City Hall of Tampere, Leipätehdas in Helsinki, Bunkkeri in Jätkäsaari, the Lahti City Hospital, the redevelopment of Töölö Hospital, and various residential projects. Several of our renovation projects are protected properties.

To support the design work, we can carry out property inventory descriptions utilizing photogrammetry and laser scanning. In addition to design, we create As-built models and digital twins of the properties to serve their use.
